Frequently asked questions
Which APA edition is this?
APA 7th edition, the latest edition at the time this tool was built.
Does it use AI or look up my source?
No. It formats only what you type, using fixed APA rules. That is why it cannot invent a citation.
What if there is no author?
Leave the author blank. The reference starts with the title, and the in-text citation uses the first words of the title.
What if there is no date?
Leave the year blank and the tool uses (n.d.), as APA requires.
Why must I still check the result?
Typos in names, titles, or dates will appear in the output. Always check against the original source and your institution's guide.
